PB and Club Record Updates
PBs and Club Records have been updated following the Cumbria Age Groups. A total of 202 PBs, 27 Club Records and 14 County Records were set by Ulverston swimmers over the 3 weekends. An enormously successful meet by anyone's standards! Well done to all!

Funding for Coaching Courses
Anonymous writes "We've been informed that the University of Cumbria is making money available for funding coaching courses for a range of sports including swimming. Full details are available here. Individuals will need to apply themselves and may receiving funding up to 40% of the cost of the course (up to a maximum of £250)."

Joe's At It Again!
First day of the Harrogate Open Meet and Joe Elwood has swum out of his skin to eclipse Matt Bowe's county record for the 200 Fly. Joe swam a superb time of 2:16.03 knocking nearly 2 seconds off Matt's 1998 record. Well done, Joe, from all at the club. Good luck in your other events.

Swim Clinic - 24th January 2009
gsbelbin writes " Following the success of the Backstroke Swimming Clinic with Olympic star Jemma Lowe last year we are holding a Butterfly Swim Clinic on 24th January. Dave Legge will be running the clinic once again but this time he is bringing Ian Hulme, a world class British butterfly swimmer. There are limited numbers so put your name down on the list on the notice board. Details of times etc are also on the notice board.

Olympic Swimmer Visits the Otters
Anonymous writes "On Saturday Jemma Lowe, Britain's premier female fly swimmer and hot prospect for an Olympic medal, visited The Otters with Dave Legge who is the North East Talent Develoment Coach. They provided a fantastic masterclass on backstroke swimming. A full report is included here.
The Otters are hoping to host another in the near future which will cover butterfly and hopefully Jemma will be able to show off an Olympic medal! To find out more information about Dave's Swimming School click the Strokerite logo."

Age Groups: More County Places for the Otters !!!

Catherine Courtman, Alexandra Fairer and Jessica Bayliff who join ,Alex W Smith, Ashleigh Dale, Austin K Wilson,Ben J Osborne, Chloe J Prosser, Ellie M Wilson, Jack C'batch, Jacky Wicks, Joe P Elwood and Joshua D Williams as having confirmed swims.
Well done Natalie Cheetham, Claire Braithwaite, Kate Farley, Lucinda Jukes and Ruby Brown who become reserve swimmers.
